Sending an alert is one of the most important parts of the Zntri app. Once you have finished configuring your system to handle alerts (Alert types, Areas, Tasks, Teams) you will need to setup and test sending an actual alert.
Setup Valid Alert Types
Before an alert can be sent you will need set what alert types can be used when users send an alert. To configure this open the send alert applet, if you have the required permissions, you should have an edit button in the top right of the send alert applet. Tap the edit button at the top. Here you will she shown a list of all of the alert types you have added. You can check or uncheck any of the alert types or add or remove it as a valid option when creating a new alert. Once you are done, tap the back button to save your changes and return to the main send alert screen.
Sending an Alert
To send a new alert tap on the Send an Alert button at the bottom of the send alert applet. When sending an alert you will have a few options you can select to customize the alert. When you have finished configuring the alert, slide the alert button at the bottom left to right to send it.
This is only a drill
The dill option check box will allow you to send out an alert with the added detail of it being a drill. This is important for when testing the system or when conducting drills to avoid panic. Using this option will make all those who receive this alert aware that this is a drill.
Send an alert to what organization?
If you belong to more than one organization within Zntri you may need to change what organization you are sending an alert to. By default the organization you are currently viewing will be selected. If you only belong to one organization that organization will always be selected. To change the organization simply tap the drop down and select the correct organization.
Alert type
When sending an alert you will be required to select an alert type. This list will be based on the list of valid alert types you selected previously.
Area within the organization
You can additionally narrow down the area within the organization where the incident has occurred by selecting an area. These areas are based on the areas you have added to your system. By default the "whole organization" is selected.
Location where the alert occurred
In addition to the area, you can also provide a more precise location of the incident. By default we will use the users current location (device gps), however, the user can choose to adjust this location manually utilizing the map by selecting custom location.
Alert Chat
Once an alert has been sent, the user who sent the alert will be sent to an alert chat. This chat offers a 2 way communication channel between those responding to the alert and the person who sent the alert. Using this chat the person who sent the alert can provide additional details including text and photos. Responders of the alert will be able to view these messages as well as reply to the person who created the alert.
Open a previously sent alert
All alerts you have ever sent will be visible in the main list on the send alert applet. Here you can open any of the alert chats. This is important in the event that you leave the app or the alert chat during an active alert. It will also allow you to see a history of anything you have sent or received in that respective alert chat.
