Within Zntri tasks are used to provide guidance for steps that need to be taken when an alert happens. When alerts happen instances of task types are created and assigned to alert responders based on the teams the belong to for each alert. Task can be anything from Open the Gate/Door to Lockdown or Evacuate the building. Task types are assigned to alert types and areas and when an alert happens the combination of task types associated with those 2 elements are used to generate the task to be done during that alert.
Create Task Types
Before task types can be added to both alert types and areas, you fist need to create them. To get started open the task types applet found in the more applet if you have the required permissions. When opening the task types applet you will be shown a list of all task types that have been created for your organization. To create a new task type tap on the "+" button at the top of the list.
Task types are very simple and only contain a name and a description. Its important though that you are very clear on both of these fields as they will be presented to the alert responder. These can be simple tasks such as Open the Gate or get the Fire Extinguisher or they can be more complex tasks such as Evacuate the building. You want to make sure that any details pertaining to the execution of the task are explained in the description.
When adding a task type to an area you will also have the option to add additional area specific details to the description. This will be added on to the task type description and allows you to add more specific detail. For example if the task is to open the door, you might provide the door unlock code for the specific building.
When you have finished, tap the Add button and you will be taken back to the task type list with the new task type added.
What can I add task types to?
Task types can be added to alert types and areas. Once added the specific tasks can be selected to be used when you add either to a team or person when added to those. This will allow you to customize not just who receives an alert but also who gets what task.
