In Zntri, Alert types are one of the 3 major components that make up the core of handling alerts within your system. Before alerts can be sent, you will first need to configure what alert types you will need. Alert types can be anything from an active shooter or bomb threat to an medical emergency or even a downed tree.
Creating an Alert Type
In order to create or edit an alert type you will need to first open the alert type applet. The alert type applet is available through the more applet if you have the required permissions. Once open you will need to select incidents from the list. You will now be shown a list of all alert types currently available. By default an assortment of alert types are pre-configured to help you get started.
To create a new alert type tap the "+" button at the top of the list. Next give the alert type a name and a description. From here you can continue to configure the alert type or tap the add button to add the alert type. Once added you will be returned to the main alert type list with the new alert type added.
To make changes to an existing alert type, simply tap on the alert type from the list to edit it.
Key Contacts
Key contacts can be added in several places throughout the Zntri app. Key contacts provide you with a way to add important contact information that are associated with a particular alert type regardless of if they are a part of the Zntri system of not. This allows you to include contacts both within and outside your organization so that when an alert of a particular type happens those responding to the alert can quickly connect with these people. For example, if the alert is for a bomb threat you may have a specific person or place (such as an FBI contact or local Police investigation department) that needs to be contacted.
To add a key contact tap the key contacts button when editing an alert type. This will give you a list of all key contacts currently added to the specific alert type. From this list you can tap the "+" button to add or remove a contact. This will give you a list of existing key contacts within your system. You can check or uncheck a contact to add of remove them. To add a completely new contact tap the "+" button on this list. Add a name, title and a method for contact and tap the add button. This will auto select the new contact for the alert type you were editing. Use the back button at the top to return to the main alert type settings.
The "Key contacts" button should now be updated with the number of key contacts added.
Tasks
Adding tasks to an alert type will allow alert responders of a particular alert type to receive tasks to be performed that are relevant to the alert type. To add tasks to an alert type tap the Tasks button when viewing an alert type. You will now see a list of all of the task types that have been assigned to this alert type. To add or remove task types simply tap the edit button at the top. Next check any task type you want to include or uncheck any task type you want to remove. Task types need to be added to the task type applet before they will show up in this list.
When your done, just tap the back button and the Tasks button will be updated with the total number of tasks that have been assigned to it.
